These fooatges had been kept for a long time from public knowledge. In an interview with Entertainment weekly magazine, Dimension Films head Bob Weinstein denied the film was a work of fiction. He stressed that they found these actual footage of the mission and that they did not filmed it on their own. The plot of this film involves a government cover-up of the mission after unknown life forms on the surface of the Moon attacked the crew. The full story of this movie is not yet known. The movie posters in English , however, indicate the Russian KGB role in a Soviet lunar conspiracy and the Russian movie posters show inscriptions in English suggesting an American government cover up. In the trailer, an American astronaut finds a dead cosmonaut and a Soviet made LK Lander on the lunar surface.
Well guys and gals, these would be rather interesting, isn't it? If I may hazard to guess, there actually was no clear-cut reason announced to the public why the Moon mission was stopped by NASA. In fact Apollo 18 was unheard of, until this movie. Seems real mysterious, right? Right. But since some of you may not be fully informed about the Apollo Space program of the US government, here is just a little backgrounder. The Apollo program was the American spaceflight undertaking that landed the first humans on the surface of the moon. Now actually, this effort was started when Eisenhower was president of the US and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA in short, was tasked with the objective. The Apollo program began to be seriously considered after President John F. Kennedy's 1961 address in Congress declaring that the US has the capacity to "landing a man on the Moon" by the end of the decade.which was clearly a reference to the ongoing competition between the US and Russia for supremacy of the outer space.
It was Apollo 11 that first accomplished the objective to let humans walk on the moon surface. The date was July 20, 1969 when Apollo 11 landed on the Moon and disgorged Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to have the first human moon walk, while Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit for their rendezvous. .After this first Moon landing, a total of five more Apollo missions were done, the last being Apollo 17. It would thus be noted that a total of 12 men were able to walk on the Moon surface, courtesy of the Apollo space program of the United States of America. Indeed, the Apollo Space program of the US is a historical achievement in terms of human spaceflight. It is the only space program of its kind that was able to achieve its amazing goal of landing humans on the Moon and exploring it, although on a limited scale only, as it was abruptly cut short after Apollo 17. And whatever the reason why the program was cut short, we can only surmise that the planners of Apollo have their own valid reason for doing so. Now the people behind this movie Apollo 18 would advance to us the idea for the real reason that was not made public after they, as they alleged it, found footage of the secret mission of Apollo 18 that they have now made into a movie so that the public will know why the Apollo Moon mission was cut short after Apollo 17.
